The following is a partial list of Internet Marketing guides from my personal library. Some are free and some are well worth their reasonable price. I've downloaded and/or purchased hundreds of products online, but these guides are among the few that I personally recommend:
- SEO, Search Engine Optimization
This should be required reading for ANYone working online: SEOFastStart by Dan Thies. It's FREE, it's less than 100 pages, and it will teach you how to structure your content and develop your website - in addition to teaching you everything you need to know about SEO and getting tons of free traffic from the search engines.
- Blogging
Who better to learn from than THE Problogger himself? Darren Rowse has been blogging professionally for more than 7 years, and is an icon of the blogging industry. 31 Days to Build A Better Blog is a workbook you can download instantly for only $19.95. Don't spend $97 on an ebook from someone who doesn't even blog!
You can also download my own free report on how to write a blog. I have been blogging full-time for more than 5 years myself, so my report and my recommendation for Darren's workbook come from experience.
- Affiliate Marketing
The very first ebook I ever bought online was the Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner. I had been doing affiliate marketing since the late 90's, but only on the side. I was ready to take it to the next level so I downloaded and devoured Rosalind's guide. I am now a highly sought-after Super Affiliate. Enough said ;)
If you're interested in affiliate marketing, download Super Affiliate Handbook and also SEOFastStart above. I do ZERO paid advertising or PPC marketing on Google Adwords. All of my traffic is free using a combination of Rosalind & Dan's methods.
- Writing Reports / Info Products
The majority of my sales online come from two methods: SEO & short reports. Whether you sell your own products (physical or digital), or you promote products as an affiliate, creating your own reports is very profitable. I really struggled with this until I downloaded Write That Report! It's only $7, and it gives you a very simple outline to follow. I had my first report written in no time, and have been earning great money with this model ever since!
I also recommend PLR Secrets (free). This report is by Nicole Dean and Jimmy D. Brown on how to use PLR to create a money-making small reports business. If you're going to write reports (and you should!) you'll want to read both.
- Event/Workshop
Most events are total pitch-fests. Meaning they just get you there so they can try to sell you high-ticket products. Don't waste your time! The one event I would recommend is the Niche Affiliate Marketing Workshop (or NAMS for short) which takes place in Atlanta, GA twice a year. This is the one event where I teach and personally help people get started in affiliate marketing. Definitely attend if you can!
