is here, and Christmas is just a few short weeks away. I was just
thinking of this as the week began- making holiday plans, preparing
for all of the decorating and get-togethers and such.
And
it hit me - it's only 31 days until 2005! And Valentines Day is
just around the corner, in just over 2 months! (And then we have
tax time, and Easter, and then Mother's Day... yada yada yada)
It
makes me wonder where in the world people come up with phrases
like "slower than Christmas". It seems to come back
around in the blink of an eye to me!
Getting
back to my point, though - there are only two GOOD weeks left
in the holiday shopping season... *maybe* three (depending on
shipping schedules).
And if you're smart, you'll also begin working on your marketing
plans for Valentines Day (if that fits into your business model)
right away.
What's quick and easy? Ebay, JV's, PPC &
RSS (If
you aren't sure what one or more of those acronyms means, feel
free to email me and ask!)
If you really sat down and dug in to one of the Guides written
on PPC, you could have your own Pay-Per-Click Campaigns up and
running by the end of the day - with or without your own website
or your own products. So if you are JUST NOW getting started,
and would like to cash in on the holiday sales, this is probably
your best bet ;) You'll
want to grab the latest Guide out: Google
Adwords 123, which is written by Greg Heslin.
The truth is, you CAN cash in on holidays and on hot markets
(quickly)... or you can strategically build an internet-based
business over time. Either or both can be very profitable choices,
and the only real limit is our own imagination and motivation!
Personally,
I do both. Sometimes I will work on a short-term project for the
purpose of funding a long-term project. If you can make a few
thousand dollars in a couple of weeks,
that may just be all that you need to get the long-term project
off the ground.
Can
you really make a few thousand dollars in a couple of weeks? YES.
Sell
some items on eBay, promote Affiliate Programs via PPC, beef up
your other marketing efforts (get more inbound links, start your
own Blog or RSS Feed, network,
etc), and then JV with someone on a project - someone that has
a mailing list, or has their own product, perhaps.
It's
just a matter of figuring out what your resources are, and then
plugging into them!
