Help wanted in Google SERPs

I have this very strange situation.

My site www.nuttymarketer.com is optimized for the keyword "gorilla marketing"
I have 23 backlinks in Google and total of 887. And I have
touched a high ranking of 56,000 for one week in Alexa.
And right now I am at 670,673 still
not having good SERPs in Google. While I am having good
ranking in MSN for some similar Keywords. But still the
Gorilla marketing is illusive to me.

While here is a website, www.gorillamarketing.net with one
120 something backlink and alexa rating in 3,585,819 ( 6 times lower to me )
is always ranked at number two or three in first pages. I just
can not understand why and how this is happening. Mind it,
both website has same Google PR of 3.

I have information that if you have good link popularity and Good Alexa ranking
You will rank higher in Google as well Yahoo.

But can anyone figure it out, what really is happening here. I accept I am not an expert in SEO. So I would like to hear on page optimization too.

Hi Arvind,

that's strange, check your logs of the week in which your site traffic was high so that you get an idea of the keywords typed in at that point of time and pay attention on optimzing your site on those keywords

BTW, have you submitted your site to directories in which you mention on your own site

christian - all I can say is huh?

1. Not true. I'm not sure where you came to that conclusion.
2. All directory listings are a good thing, but a Yahoo listing will not catapult a site to #1 on Google. Plus, I don't even see evidence that the competitor even *has* a Yahoo listing.
3. Those are stop words, the engines ignore them in most cases.


nutty - stop using google to check backlinks - use Yahoo - G's link command is worthless and has been for a long time.

Alexa rankings mean crap as far as real SE ranks go (G, Y and MSN). Also, "gorilla marketing" is a misspelling of the *correct* term, which is "guerilla marketing".
