Hi Lynn - it's been a while since I've posted here and since you helped to successfully kick start my writing business (http://www.SharonWrites.com) but you see...I've been busy on Twitter!

It has been great not only for leads but for keeping me informed on PR tips and issues (my FT work). I also use it to connect with colleagues for topics ranging from podcast interviews to budget queries.

Hello,
I just joined Twitter a few days ago but, I am lost!!!!
I read the FAQ but, do not understand if the "@username" will get the response back to the original poster or is that only if they are following you?

Sorry, if I am a bit slow. It's not the 1st time that has happened to me!

Even my 13 y/o daughter signed up so we could try it out together. You know kids are good for somethings.

Thanks,
Sheryl Loch

Hi Sheryl,

Usually yes, but it depends on the individual users settings. Direct replies to their tweet will show up in their replies tab. But if you just put @username and type a tweet it will only show up if they have their settings set to see all @ replies in the replies tab. So the short answer is "usually" because most people do that :)

Thanks Lynn!
I have just been trying to figure it all out. I have been getting hits to my blog from there so, I will keep working at it.
I have been trying not to post a link unless I have added a new article to my blog. I see some people only sling links & they are boring. LOL!

Sheryl Loch

I just went & checked my setting & made it to get all replys. It was set to only followers. maybe now i will find some new people that have common interest.

Good idea. You can also use the search box at the top of the screen to look for keywords, local people, etc.
