REGISTERFLY NIGHTMARE!!!

Quick question with the mess that is happening over at Registerfly how can you switch a domain that is registered with them over? With everything going on over there with ICANN trying to shut them down would appreciate any suggestion.

You should be able to go to any other registrar and apply for a domain transfer.

I'm in the process of transferring two domains away from registerfly. I think the first one probably worked ok. However, the second one doesn't have an authorization code on it and when I ask to transfer it, it says the domain cannot be found. ....... When I feel strong enough LOL I am going to phone their support to find out what's happening.

.... I never liked their interface; .......... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

When I first heard about the entire RegistryFly debacle, I was astounded.

Last year, I signed up for an account so I could use their expired domain notification service. Long story short, they ended up double billing me for the service and when I contacted their customer service to get the situation fixed, I never even received a response.

Not only that, they began spamming me like crazy. I hit their unsubscribe buttons, I've e-mailed and asked not to receive their e-mails, but no-go -- I had to start marking it as spam in Gmail to stop receiving it all.

It's not surprising that this situation has happened to them. After my experience, I saw the red flags and stayed away from them like they were a plague.

My hope is that all the people affected by this mess can get some resolution -- or at least, get compensated for their losses (may be difficult for some of the large businesses who may have lost their domain names to domaineers).

My pessimistic side tells me they won't get compensation for their losses,
especially if Registerfly will have anything left to give as such. But...one
never knows, especially when one has seen stranger things happen.

However, I do also hope people will be able to transfer their domains out
right away, using any and all means possible.

If anyone is still having difficulty trying to transfer, try to post specifics so
we can try to figure out the best course of action.

It's a tough situation and looks like many will loose their domains. Check out this site for updates and info: Registerflies

There is also a class action law suit being mounted. Good luck to you, I hope you get your domains back!
