Article marketing is one of my core marketing methods I used. It has been bringing traffic for me, especially from ezinearticles.

Not only that, it brings back links to my site.

Be consistent in submitting your articles. Submitting 1 or 2 doesn't make any differences. Submit at least once per week. This will create a snowball effect.

Article marketing can be viral as well. Some of my articles are re-printed in other websites, creating backlinks again.

The secret to success with articles is the resource box. I can crank out a 500 word article in no time flat, but, I spend a ton of time tweaking the resource box.

Article marketing is the way to go. You can piggyback effectively on the reputation of the authority sites.

I have articles in the directories that have been viewed 39 000 times in less tha a year and they still bring in nice traffic

In fact, if you are a newbie I would do this as one of the very first things to start getting traffic to my site. It taks a long time to rank in the Search Engines for your own site.

The trick is to do it consistently every week for 2 -3 months, and as karadawn has said, it will bring you traffic after that like you will not believe.

It does not hurt to optimize the article for your keyword either. Don't just write an article, go through the same process as if you were making a keyword targeted page for your own website. Go for long tail keywords and you can rank very well in a very short time.
