Postby KITT2006 » Sat Sep 30, 2006 3:05 pm

Hi there.!

I would like some help on choosing a domain name. Im starting a new blog where i will blog about whats going on in my everyday life.

Whats going on in my everyday life could be things like:
me being danish living in the UK
my interests in football
student parties
my view on media stories (being a media student)

Im not looking for specific domain names, just some ideas of what words i could include

Hi & Welcome :D

You want to go with one of two things: something catchy, or something with keywords. Catchy like "Dooce.com" or "BackinSkinnyJeans.com" (two popular personal blogs) - or something that contains keywords that would attract your target market.

How do you want to journal/blog to be 'branded'?

Hi KITT,

Try Softnik Technologies for a a free program called GoodKeywords. Also, I just used Domain Name Analyzer from DomainPunch with your keywords. It came up with a few domain names you might like.
http://www.domainpunch.com, its a free download

also, if you are going to use keywords, separate them with hyphens

good-keywords-blog.com

do not use underbars _

and do not run the words all together.

nobody would type into a search engine;
goodkeywordsblog

but they would type in
good
and/or
keywords
and/or
blog

hyphens are treated as separators by the search engines, so they would see your domain name as the separate words instead of all one work.

underbars do not work the same way.

also, it goes without saying that you can't use spaces in a domain name or any other part of a url for that matter.

luck,
robert
