I dont manage well on less than 5 hours of sleep, so thats my goal. That usually suits me fine, as long as I can find time for a nice little hour nap in the afternoon ;)

I manage 7 hours BUT as I really need about 12, I go around looking like a zombie till after lunchtime!

I like the idea of the post-prandial nap!

I usually get 4 to 5 or so. I need more, but there's so much more I'd rather be doing than sleeping. IF I have a major project, or if I'm writing/directing a big play I get less...

I need at least 5 or 6 hours. And lots of coffee ;) I love my naps but they are rare lately :(

My sleeping schedule is sporadic, however, I'm working on nailing something solid down. On average, I can get anywhere between 5-8 hours. My goal is to get at least 8 hours every evening and wake up at 6:30am (without hitting the snooze button) every morning.

I just finished watching a show, called When Sleep Goes Bad, on The Learning Channel (TLC) about this very topic. If anyone's interested: http://www.tlc.com/sleep - very interesting stuff.

You guys sure are lucky. i work on the graveyard shift so I need to adapt to anew sleeping schedule. Sleeping in the day instead of during the night can be difficult. I have learned to mange though and i can stay effective on just 5 hours of sleep a day.

My schedule gets a lot more flexible in the summer months, with the lack of school schedule, which is nice. I generally sleep something like 2am to 8am (give or take). Every year that the kids have been back in public school I have seen the summer as a welcome break from "the schedule". And then Fall is a nice time to get back on it and enjoy the early mornings again.
