Question about second domain

I bought a second domail from my my hosting account: Bluehost. This is what my new domain looks like: http://old domain.com/new domain.

It is on the same root as the first domain and it looks like a sub domain. Should I have gone to a different hosting company? I wanted the second domain look like: http://newdomain.com What do you think?

Do you have a place within Bluehost to do what is called an 'add on domain'? If so, that's what you need to do: add on the new domain to your bluehost hosting account.

Then yes, it does look a bit odd when you log in via FTP and such, you go under the public_html folder and then there will be a folder for your new domain, click that and there is where you will upload the files for your new domain...

HOWEVER, from the web side of things, you would access this new domain like any other: http://newdomain.com because it's an add on domain, not a sub domain and it's not really in a folder or directory, despite how it looks to access it within your account.
