How can I get started in Affiliate Marketing?

Hi guys, I just created and ebook. This one is not about getting rich online like most others, but contains valuable immigration if you have a specific legal problem and how to work it out.

I know this is information that a lot of people will pay good money for, I just don't know where to start from.

I have the ebook, I have a website, everything is ready. I would like to get affiliates to promote it. Most of the information I found online about affiliate programs are for people who want to promote someone else's products, and my case is the opposite.

How should I get started? Should I go with Commission Junction, Clickbank, PayDotCom or what?

Any tips to get the biggest amount of affiliate interested in promoting a new product? I've read that they look at the statistics for the best sellers and they promote those products (it makes sense after all). How can I get their attention?

Hi Zeke, Welcome to the SSWT Forum

I would recommend that you set your product up on ClickBank. You'll get the most exposure to active affiliates there. Once you get it set up, you need to work on Joint Ventures. That will help you get affiliates and make sales, and will also help your stats at ClickBank.

Are you familiar with Joint Ventures at all? If not, I would start by doing a search on google for "jv tips" or "joint venture tips" and get some ideas.

Basically you want to search out bloggers, newsletter publishers and website owners that reach your target market (your ideal buyer) online. Send them a personalized email and let them know that you are about to publicly launch your new guide (dont call it an ebook) and ask them if they would like to review it and recommend it before it goes public - for 50% commission of course.

Best advice is never give up. You'll have up times and down times. The only time you will fail is if you give up.

Businesses tend to take 2-3 years before you can call them real successes. Online businesses are a tad easier, because there is virtually no overhead and if something doesn't work, you really haven't anything to lose by starting again with something new.

Hang in there, learn all you can, find niches you enjoy and work hard.

PayDotCom does not charge you to set up an account like Clickbank does. Clickbank charges you $50. PayDotCom offers the same if not better in some areas and it is not so populated. Still lots of affiliates on there looking for products.
