Affiliate commissions

I have 2 online businesses:
www.GolfFins.com .....which is opened for business
www.versapurse.net ....which can be viewed but can't buy from yet

Here's my question: I'm about to buy an affiliate software program and I keep hearing about 40%+ commissions. I can do 40% on the GolfFins site, but the VersaPurse site can't support that kind of payout (not even close)......15% MAX

Does this mean that I won't get the higher traffic sites to sign up? Or is it based on the product and other factors?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Also, is the iDevAFFILIATE software ok for someone like me who is just starting out?

I would go with Jv manager or Jrox.

In the majority of cases, you are seeing these 40% payouts on digital products (ebooks, subscriptions, etc.) For an actual physical product, commission percentages are usually much less (5% - 20% the norm).

Make sure your comparing apples to apples Aside from the actual payout, product and conversion rate and just plain word of mouth will factor heavily in who signs up for your affiliate program.
