AOL Users and their 'Report as Spam' button
How can you keep your AOL subscribers (double opt-in) from clicking that dreaded "Report as Spam" button? Thats really annoying, especially when you provide an easy to find & use Unsubscribe link... and you have record of their double opt-in subscription.
Is there a 'nice way' - or a proven method - of compelling them NOT to do this? I dont think that they realize we are hard-working entrepreneurs, that genuinely care about their interests, and that they could potentially be clicking the 'nuke' button on our business. I honestly dont think this is intentional, but perhaps AOL makes it 'too easy' - compared to clicking on an Unsub link within the email. Enough people clicking this will get a newsletter owner banned from reaching ANY AOL members... many of which subscribed to and ENJOY our newsletters.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
This has only happened to me twice in all the time I've been sending out SSWT, but I'd hate to lose touch with my entire AOL audience over it at some point in the future...
