Need Freelancing Info

I was just wondering if anyone who is a freelance writer, what their favorite site for getting profitable jobs from was.
Such as , , , , , etc.
If you have tried more than one service, which do you prefer and why? How long did it take you to obtain your first job? Did anyone you worked for want you for a second job? Did anyone spread your name to their contacts to help you get more work? Did you have a problem getting paid? Money in escrow or no?
I have used and reviewed several of these sites of my own, and have created a lesson for new beginners to odesk.com. I would like to do a more in depth report to cover the best ones but could use some other people's opinions and experiences.
