I received an email telling me how Ebay is listening to its members and has decided to lower insertion and listing fees. But what they don't emphasize is that they're raising the prices significantly on most Final Value Fee's. For instance, they have raised the rate from 5.5% to 8.75% on items up to $25 and have increased the rate from 3.25 up to 3.50 on items selling from $25 up to $1,000. They have also increased their Final Value Fee's on store inventory listings from 10% to 12% on the initial $25 and from 7% to 8% on listings from $25 to $100. The bottom line is that while they make a big deal of dropping the listing fee's a nickle, most people will lose much more overall with the recent changes.
