Lynn would also add Twitter to the list of social networking sites. Get to the site and follow Lynn on twitter she speaks very regularly there.
If you look at all of them then what I see as key is building community and if you look at all of Lynn's sites they are inter-related and they all come back to discussion and sharing of information.
If you have valuable content then sharing will make people want more of it.
Also if you blog on wordpress then there is a wonderful new plugin that you can use to add content to your blog when you post on twitter. (This gives search engine's new content when they come back to your blog so they will resubmit your site for indexing and therefore increase your SEO)
This plugin is free have a look it's on my blog midway down the right and side.

For me the best and most effective way to generate FREE traffic is article marketing. Because your articles remain online forever and allow you to get repeated visitors to your blog/site. Only thanks to article marketing both beginner and guru internet marketer can increase sales.
