Avoiding Distractions

Headphones and rock and roll music.

My biggest distraction though is looking out the window at the wildlife. We live in the country and get all kinds of wildlife in our yard and I'm always snapping pictures. Sometimes I have to close the curtains in order to get any work done.

I have no techniques because I have the same problem with distractions AND I don't have kids LOL Should be easy for me right? Looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say.

Melody, it's funny you mention taking pictures of wildlife. Just the other day, I saw such a cute bird outside I had to snap a pic of it. Then of course my Basset Hound and cat do cute things so then I need to take pictures of them and play too. Haha

When family life gets too hectic around me and I really need to keep working, I put on my headphones with classical music.

I get distracted by reading. I find something interesting on the web and before I know it, I have spent a couple of hours reading about whatever it is.

Ah Yes Distraction.

I'm not sure about this But do dogs have Off buttons you can press I looked but I have not found one yet or even a mute button would do maybe I could reprogram the TV remote hit mute when the dog Barks at nothing.

I keep looking too Ian. Can't find one. Worse, they have built-in alarm clocks that you can't adjust either and mine are set to go off at an ungodly early hour of the day.

Glad to see I'm in good company here. I am just so easily distracted sometimes.

My husband asked me one night, "What did you do when you were managing the office and you were on a schedule?"

I said, "Remember all those nights I stayed an extra hour?"

You know, they say that even though most people work 8 hour days, that only 2 or 3 of those hours are truly productive hours. We spend time doing other things, chatting with coworkers, daydreaming, snacking, shuffling through papers, etc...
