Put the ads where the people will be most of the time. I don't think that's in the menu: I think it's IN the content. Look at Google's heatmap for example.
I mainly do Adsense sites. Most of them with 10-50 visitors a day. I had way less clicks than you do now but just applying this "in the content" tip from Michael Cheney's (* aff. link) has changed my network from ad-cents to good ad-dollars.
Give it a try and you'll see a difference, even with those tech people. Really, this Michael guy evidently knows what he's talking about.
