iphone unlock marketing scam??

I bought an $5 ebook from the WFSO page. It was how to make money as an affiliate for an iphone unlock programme. The company were selling the software for $7 and the commission was about $5. The plan was to use google adwords to promote your site and hopefully get sales. However google are charging megabucks for iphone unlock keywords so the whole thing would seem to be not feasible at all. This guy claimed he was able to get a 10% conversion rate but even with that the maths just don't add up. Is this a scam or what??
