It could be that... or it could even be the quality of links pointing to each page. Analyze the inbound links that point to your home page, versus the inbound links that point to internal pages. Something may stand out to you there...

What is PageRank

Postby California Jerry » Mon Jan 29, 2007 7:24 pm

Summary Of PageRank
PageRank is all about how many inbound links are pointing to your page and the quality of those links. Quality refers to the PageRank of the referring page. [Edit: I have since discovered this information is not accurate.]

php generated pages, page.php, are not an issue. Google PageRank algorithm does not care what's on the page. The algorithm only cares about the number and quality links pointing to your page.

As for SEO and what keywords your page will be found for in the Search Engine (SE) results, the anchor text of the links will be the influencing factor.

You are correct on some points. And what you see in the toolbar is not accurate. Its called TBPR (tool bar page rank).

Consider this: If there was an obvious set of rules to "the game" of search engine rankings... then the results could be easily manipulated by spammers. Keeping those "rules" somewhat elusive is what keeps their results so relevant. And without relevant (spam-free) results... the search engines arent providing good value to their visitors.
