A Good Link Strategy
Makes A BIG Difference!

No matter what you are doing online, one of the most important tasks to focus on is your Link Strategy...

I run into products every week that make our job easier, or create unreal numbers of content pages that are designed to rank well and are easy to monetize.

People ask me if they should do this or do that, or what I think of a particular program. And my answer is always the same:

"No matter which route you choose, or which program you use, you STILL need quality inbound links to your web pages in order for your pages to rank well. Period."

Whether you create 1200 pages of content manually, or use a program that creates 12,000 pages of content for you in a flash... you still have to get good quality links pointing in to each of those pages in order for them to rank well in the major search engines. AND you must make your pages/content unique to some extent - which requires manual editing, even if you use a program that promises you can "create thousands of quality content pages that the search engines will love in a matter of minutes!!". The search engines WON'T "love them" if they are identical to the pages on 50+ other websites.

Many of these programs are great for creating content pages, or even product-based pages. Especially for the non-creative or the non-writer. You just need to know upfront that your project still requires hands-on work in order to reap the kinds of rewards you've heard about on various sales letters and around the 'net.

Once you have developed a website, your main objective
should be: GETTING INBOUND LINKS

Most people groan at this task... and with good reason. It is time consuming and it can be frustrating. Still, if you leave this out then you are leaving A LOT of traffic and revenue on the table. Enough so that it could be the difference between making a living on the 'net... and simply wasting your time creating sites that no one will ever see.

This is a task that is best done manually - your goal being to establish relevant "natural" links pointing to your web pages. Not just the main page of your website, but internal pages as well.

That said, there is one program that can help you locate good link partners and save you loads of time in the process. This program, SEO Elite, basically helps you to analyze your competition in the search results (using a wide variety of criteria - both "on the page" and "off the page" details), and points out the absolute best potential link partners for any given keyword or niche. It even gives you their contact information, and you can email them from within the program - which is *very* convenient.

Common Questions About Link Strategy

Q: How can I get relevant inbound links?

A: Use specific search strings. See:
http://www.selfstartersweeklytips.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5529

A: Gain quality inbound links through forum posts and blog comments. See:
http://www.selfstartersweeklytips.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4834

A: Submit articles to webmasters of related websites, and contact webmasters personally. See: http://associateprograms.com/discus/ftopic12004.html

Q: What about all of these "link exchange request" emails that I get,
       and links pages I find?

A: A link exchange needs to make sense. Meaning, your link out to any other page on the web has to benefit your visitors in some way. Don't link out to junk. See:
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=21719

Q: Should I ONLY use my keyword phrase in my Anchor Text for
inbound links, or can I use longer phrases in those links?

A: Using anything more than your keyword phrase will dilute the results... however, you should mix it up to give the appearance of more "natural" linking. See:

Q: Do Internal Links (from pages within the same site) count
as much as inbound links from other domains?

A: No, though they do count. Solid navigation should be present to help your human visitors as well. See:

Q: How many links do I need? (Researching Competition)
